Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge
Reviews
This course is in great shape. One of the best courses in the state. Great staff, everyone was happy to help with anything you need. The rangers move you along to ensure a timely round for everyone. The practice facility is amazing and very large. I played both courses Panther lake is my faviorte of the two.
Please note that this review has to do with two specific instances of a lack of customer service rather than the courses themselves...which are quite nice. On October 28th, 2014 a friend and I played Crooked Cat after making a tee time earlier in the week. We were teamed with another golfer for our 9:54 tee time. We quickly found that we would not be teeing off at 9:54 because of earlier morning fog (according to the starter). We teed off at 10:25 after learning that we would be the first group behind the end of a mini-tour tournament. Our time on the course was 5 hours and 30 minutes. We tried to voice our concerns (such as we should have been told when we made the tee time that we would be behind a tournament). This initially fell on deaf ears of the pro shop staff who offered an apology. To his credit, Jason from the pro shop later came to the restaurant and obtained our names and contact info and said someone would contact us. I had already gone online and requested someone to contact me. The online response was that someone would contact us "momentarily." I could understand one incident of this incredibly slow play, BUT three weeks before this, my wife and I played Crooked Cat which was WAY overbooked because there was a tournament going on at Panther Lake. Our tee time that day was 2:33. We left the course at 6:41...still not playing #16-18! This event coupled with the first event is the reason I wished to speak with someone. We waited until Monday, November 3 (after not hearing from anyone at OCN. I called and was told I needed to speak with "Toby" and was given his voicemail after being told he was on his line. I left my name and contact info and a short account of our concern and requested to be contacted. It is now, November 6 at 3:45 p.m. and I still have heard nothing from OCN. The lack of response is unacceptable, hence the poor review. Will I return to OCN to play...perhaps. Should they inform you of course conditions that may dramatically increase playing time? Probably. Should they respond to someone who wishes to speak about a concern? ABSOULUTELY. Bad form, OCN!
negative customer service. they want all your personal information. in case you break the golf car. this is for the 9 holes.
On the plane home to VA from a weekend at OCN. This place is awesome! I did a 2-day school with the head teaching pro, Tom Coman. Great, young coach! He helped me a ton! Not sure about the people griping about customer service; I found this to be a strong suit at OCN. Their bag boys wear vests with FIT on the back, which means First Impression Team. This sums up their approach! Great pro shop, too! My only complaint is no pool, but sounds like they're trying to get one. Will definitely go back!
Worked there its a good place to golf if ur in the right staffs hands otherwise selfish place. The lodge is a mad house. Idiots working there no common sense or leadership. Its a play it by air company. Food is disgusting. No appreciation for staff. Great work experience meeting ppl otherwise will close down soon when owners realize not worth the hassel.
