Barnes & Noble

credible selection of popular and rare books at excellent prices. One thing they should consider investing in is a computer for customers to search bookIs on because there are so many titles (and because the staff is usually in a sour mood). But I overlook these things because the variety of books is so great.
Every time we go to this location the staff is rude and stand-offish. They act like you are asking for their kidney when you need to find a book. I was just there and the lady at the customer srvc kiosk couldn't find 4 books in a row. Wait times were easily 10 minutes per person in line. I inquired about a book in the bargain section to find out what the clearance price was, the employee (a different employee) was insistent that the publisher's price above the UPC was the bargain price and was unwilling to even look up the price in the computer. Worst Barnes and Noble location by far. Service is terrible and the selection is sparse.
Going to the store is always an ok experience, though the staff generally wants very little to do with anyone. Don't bother calling the store. After a lengthy and pointless monologue, someone picks up the phone and asks where she can transfer you. I then proceeded to wait 5 minutes before the line went dead. This process happened 5 calls in a row. Whichever employee is behind this should no longer be working at this store. If you have the ability to go to a different location, do so.
I come here at least two to three days a week after class. The staff is for the most part pretty lovely. My favourite employee always recognizes me and says hello; he has this wonderfully gentle and kind air even though I'm painfully shy. The members of the staff that have been there for a while are really helpful. The poetry section is usually a bit disappointing, however. I doubt there's a huge variation in that between the different stores though.
Big. Decent collection. Disappointing staff. Saw a lady spill a tea and ran over to help her. When I grabbed napkins to help, I asked the coffee clerks for a rag or assistance and received only a disinterested reply that they'd be over in a minute. Using bar napkins I helped the lady mop up most of the spill and dry her electronics. As I left, I watched one of the clerks approach, drop a grimy rag and kick it around while the lady apologized and returned to her post behind the coffee bar. Disappointed, I tried mentioning this story to another employee and was told 'they clean up after messy slobs all the time, what do you expect?' Not much apparently.
