The Bulldog Lowertown

Just picked up 2 orders of Fish and Chips and have to say we were so Disappointed. It was more like an order of Fish Sticks then fish fillets. The fish pieces were not fillets they were small sticks, more like something you would be feeding your kids. We have had the Fish and Chips previously and enjoyed them and were pleasantly surprised at the quantity of the fish and quality. Just a week later and it was like going to a totally different restaurant. Not sure if we will go back
Three-ingredient drink given to me incorrect both times I ordered it, yet they were very smug about fixing it. Food is decent. Service could use a boost of enthusiasm.
A generous 3 stars, due to food and beer. They seriously need to sort out their service issue. Beer- wonderful both in choice and reasonably priced. Food- consistent and very tasty. They have nice rotating specials. But at least the last 3 times I've been there service has just been horrible. Servers/bartenders are smug, almost like we're a bother, and things take FOREVER. I mean I seriously can go somewhere else, folks. There were like 5 tables occupied in the entire place. Just got back from a late lunch, like 2PM and just got home after 4PM. We waited 20 minutes to place a beverage order and waited over 40 minutes for sandwiches. Fries came ice cold and they were cool about giving the people I was with new ones. I think I'll just order my food to go from now on...
I love everything except for one deal breaker... It is noisy as hell. There is no acoustic treatment done whatsoever. Most people I talk to about the bulldog agree about this. Me and a friend would always get food to go because we couldn't stand being in such a noisy environment. I wish they'd do some acoustic treatment. Until then, I'd rather go to barrio, senior wong, or golden's deli.
Went here on a Wednesday night. It wasn't too busy.. But service was not good! Food was great though.
