Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon, waited 15 minutes at a table without being acknowledged, went and stood at the bar for 5 minutes, still no acknowledgement of my presence. Waited at the table for 5 more minutes, then just left. It was dead in there, and even as we left, not one word from the host as we walked by him. Won't be back

If you want to hear some of the Twin Cities best musicians on stage, this is one of the best places to go. Many musicians consider this a "must play" stage if they're taking their careers seriously. They have live music 7 days a week. Their best feature is their main room and stage. It's large, relatively dark so everyone looks better, has good acoustics with a decent sound system, and a nice dancefloor. The bar is a little separated from the main room so if you want a little less volume you can sit at the bar which has a lot of space while still being able to see the stage. There is a patio area. They have an ok menu with typical bar fare such as burgers, sandwiches, nachos, etc. Their beer selection is typical for a small neighborhood dive bar. Don't expect to get Surly Furious at this place. The crowd is 40+, and they like their classics. A lot of the patrons are musicians themselves. The majority of bands are blues, funk, r&b, and some rock. Most of the bands have been around for years and most of the players are true veterans. They do have a metal night and they appear to be trying to bring in younger groups but they should try harder. I've been going there for 10 years and it's been pretty much the same bands with the same people coming to see them. It is a little stale in there. The place could also use a renovation or a good deep cleaning. It is clear that they are focused on keeping live music there every single night, and that's a good amount of resources focused on one aspect of their business. All in all, this is a neat place to go if you're into live music. There is a ton of memorabilia on the walls and a lot of history on their stage. You should expect to pay a $5 to $10 cover charge and $10-$15 on your meal not including drinks. Hearing good quality musicians is almost guaranteed. Definitely check this place out.
