The Joint Cafe
Reviews
Went here for my 5 year anniversary dinner and we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
In town for the wkd & happened quite luckily upon this place. Fantastic coffee (I'm always worried about that when away...geek). Menu all looked great but we had room only for 1 meal - big breakfast. Enjoyed the from-scratch preparation of even the simplest of items.
Went there for lunch. My wife had duck tacos, which tasted excellent but were a tad small. I had the chicken pot pie -- outstanding taste and very good portion. We started with carrot ginger soup, again excellent. Ambiance is nice. The positive messages festooning the bathroom walls are a nice touch. Staff was friendly. Food was delivered promptly. We will definitely lunch here again.
Tried this place with a younger friend and was very pleased with the generous amount and the healthy balance of options on the menu. A wide variety of ages and backgrounds were represented in the very busy lunchtime crowd predicting a successful appeal to a wide demographic. Couldn't resist a return visit a few days later. The decor is interesting and welcoming without being self-consciously stylish. The wonderful mix of eclectic furniture appeals to anyone who might rightly surmise that the real money has been invested in the kitchen and the menu. Impressive staff all pitch in to cover all the duties from retrieving fallen napkins to delivering meals, to busing tables efficiently and cheerfully. They all seem to have been hand picked to anticipate customers simplest needs ... like a napkin to wipe off one's fogging glasses on entering from the cold. I fully intend return visits and in fact have resolved to work my way through the menu and know I will enjoy the excellent value for my money. Clearly, The Joint fills a need in Guelph's downtown community. But what a great place for anyone as it's an excellent destination in itself.
Really enjoyed our early experiences. However food preparation quality has slipped recently. Coffee may be best in town.
