Ricardo's Grill & Pub

Had a date night with my husband and didi't want to drive far. The server Eric was OUTSTANDING! We haven't had such a good experience in decades. The food was great too. Really enjoyed our night. The server knew what Celiac was and assured me all would be notified in the kitchen. The manager came out and made sure our experience was wonderful. He also assured me that they had gone the extra mile to ensure a safe gluten free meal.
OK, if you live in Versailles and don't want to drive to Lexington or Frankfort. Food is fair. Would say decent but it is inconsistent. Some days well prepared, others not so much, too much salt, under/over cooked, etc. Prices are along Applebee's, food is sometimes better, sometimes worse than chain food. Menu is standard "bacon" is an entree fair. Soups are ok. If I'm in town, it's meal time, and I'm too tired to drive, I'll eat here. I just don't expect a great meal. Which is too bad as I think with a little TLC they could pull it off. No other sit down option but Melissa's which is another mediocre restaurant or Callie's which is a better option if you want fried food and hamburgers.
I live in Versailles and eat at Ricardo's weekly. The service is always great and the food is consistently good. The atmosphere of the old train station is really unique. The patio is very pleasant in warmer weather, and they occasionally have live music which is very enjoyable. It's also a good place to watch a game with a group of friends.
We had our family Christmas gathering at Riccardo's. I must say, I was a little anxious after reading the reviews. However, we were MORE than pleased with everything. Our service was great and the meals were excellent. Thank you for providing our family an awesome Christmas experience. Their were 10 in our party. Not one person was dissatisfied. Kudos to all.
The worst restaurant meal that I have had in many a day. The chef must never eaten Chicken Marsala prepared by anyone competent. because the dish I had bore no resemblance to any real or imagined recipe. The chicken was breaded and sautéed and topped by provolone (?) cheese. There was spinach accompanied by what passes in Versailles for pancetta, (no mushrooms, no onions and no hint of Marsala wine) served over ramen noodles with soy sauce. SIMPLY DREADFUL. Stay away!
