Ramsey's Diner
Reviews
This past Friday February 21, 2014 was a very sad day for our entire family. We had just come from the graveside service for a close family member. Ramsey's took us in, all 60+ of us, and treated us with respect and care. The staff went above and beyond what we ever expected and the food & drinks were wonderful as well. We will certainly be returning often to Ramsey's...a home away from home!
I was in town for a funeral and we ended up at Ramsey's on a Friday night. We walked in with a group of six at about 8:30pm and they sat us within 15 minutes. I had the broiled pork chops, fried green tomatoes, apple fritters, and mashed potatoes. The food took 45-50 minutes to arrive at the table, but when it did it was hot and fresh. Everything was very good with one exception... The fried green tomatoes were not seasoned at all. They were prepared well, but not seasoned at all. The waitress said people like to put cocktail sauce on them, which I've never heard of in my life... For desert I chose the "combination" pie from a list of about 20 different pies. It is brownie and peanutbuttter pie combined, and was very good. I'd definitely return if I ever find myself nearby again.
We eat here at least once a week. It is a local restaurant with four sites across Lexington. They use locally grown food when it is in season. Food is excellent and so are the servers. It can be busy on weekends for dinner and during Keeneland in April and October but it is worth the wait.
Good down home food the way your grandmother used to make it.
I had a BBQ Chicken sandwich and some mac and cheese and it was excellent. Classic diner style, great foods.
