Southport Grocery and Cafe
Reviews
I came here at opening for a quick Sunday brunch. The patio was great, the coffee+bloody mary were great, and the food was really top notch. I got something to the affect of juevos ranchers in-a-bowl and it was really good. The only downside is that you need to plan way in advance if you'd like to eat there. Wait times in excess of 1+ hrs are not uncommon.
LOVE Southport Grocer! The cutest little brunch spot in Lakeview. The food is all so delicious I don't even know what to recommend because everything from the french toast, any of the egg dishes to the turkey sandwich you cannot go wrong. Oh! And you have to get a cupcake when you checkout because they are simply out of this world!
This is our favorite breakfast location (along with most of the city). There is always a line, but the great thing is you can put your name and number in and the hostess will text your phone when your table is ready. This is great for killing time shopping around at the other stores nearby! PS get the bread pudding pancakes or the stuffed French toast. You can't go wrong!!!
The food was amazing! Ordered the hash and shared the bread pudding pancakes with the table. It was a great balance of sweet and savory. The wait was long, but you can spend it wandering in one of the nearby stores.
Terrible terrible cafe! We sat forever waiting on the food and when it showed up it was cold. Worse still there was a plastic lid in the food! The lettuce was mush from sitting around. They took the food with the lid back and just put it in another bowl, still cold. This is by far the worst place I've eaten at. I will go out of my way to warn people not to come here. Bad food, bad service, where's the up side? If you value your health, skip this place!
