Samah North Hookah Lounge retains a luxurious illusion with its decked out atmosphere. From Large comfy sofas, to groovy lit and curtained rooms filled with pillows, Samah provides a tranquil vibe that lingers in the air and an atmosphere that is perfect for refining your smoke tricks. I could go on about the chill environment from the provided board games, television at the bar, and being one of the few hookah bars in the Chicago area without alcohol. However, the hookah itself is what this review's focus is on. It's a hit or a miss with service here, sometimes it's ridiculously fast and other times you may only see your server once during a two hour session. I personally enjoyed the server we received, a good sense of humor and was rather quick with getting us the hookah and coles. While the hookah arrived in a timely fashion, it is apparent that the employees of Samah have little care for the quality of their hookah. It's easy to tell that they rarely clean out their hookahs and hoses. Every hit you take will be masked by the taste of an older burnt flavor that has yet to have been cleaned out. The quality of the hookah can say a lot about the business, and a poorly cleaned hookah does not speak very well for Samah. P.S - Good luck deciphering the menu, the service will help you very little if they are busy.
This is one of my favorite places to smoke in Chicago. The staff is great and the place has a very chill feel to it. I prefer this one to the south location because it's not as busy. They have rooms in the back with comfy pillows or you can sit at the bar and watch tv or play playstation. They have some fun board game you can play as well. If you do go I highly recommend ordering the Nelson Mandela. Sounds weird I know, but give it a shot!
This place is an old fave of mine. I love it here! The staff is great, the atmosphere is chill and the selection is beyond great! I'm even planing on taking my cousin for her 18th birthday!! I can't wait to go again and hit that level of relaxation that only a trip to Samah can bring!
