Had 4 tickets to see Sylvan Esso on 3-14-15 (tonite), didn't get to see them perform.. Door man didn't let me in after deeming one of my friends (out of 4) impaired..(she was not).. Made me missed my show and I'm out of money for 4 tickets.. I asked for manager to explain.. Waited 20 minutes for some guy to come out to claim to be in charge.. Swear at me and leave.. I'm highly disappointed and speechless did not expect to be treated this bad in Chicago.. :(

I do like this place. It's an intimate venue, with good sound and decent priced shows. The only thing I don't like is trying to get out at the end of a show. I've been to several shows here, the latest being Hozier. The sound is always decent, the crowd isn't too rowdy, but they do tend to be really talkative.

Came here for Lucius and The Rural Alberta Advantage, both acts that thrive on a sense of intimacy. It's no surprise that both acts were able to come out into the middle of the audience and do an acoustic set. It's a testament to the venue Metro has become, small, but attractive to those artists that seek to gain a connection with spectators. My friend also was shooting and we did not have any incidents with rude or rowdy people. Cool venue with chill people, what else could you ask for?

Always a good time at Metro. I've been going here since I was in high school to see bands and love this intimate club. It's a great place to catch smaller bands and even a rare crazy-popular band (Foo Fighters, much?) The space is great, sound is fantastic, and you really can't go wrong here.

Came here for the Dum Dum Girls. This place must be popular, because that night, there were 2 different shows, and Dum Dum Girls didn't go on til after midnight. However, that didn't deter the crowd. People of all different ages go out for the shows here. It was a small crowd due to the small venue. 1st floor was standing room only and there's a few seats on the 2nd floor that's part of the VIP/Reserved area. Due to the small venue, anywhere in the place is a good place to view the show. I opted for the 1st floor right in front of the band, and had a great night.
