My wife and I have made this our home away from home. Super friendly staff (Raji, Renita and Miller) are great! Not long ago this was a beer only bar but now it is a fully stocked bar, and that is not the only changes! Nancy has renovated the inside and out with a beautiful new wood bar top and 5 regulation washer pits outside.
After 65 years as a beer and wine bar only, Giddy Ups now morphed into Giddy Ups Whiskey Saloon offering a full-size bar. A soft remodel, new bar, lights and furniture as well as keeping the bar now non-smoking appeal to a bigger crowd, but have not damaged the coziness or friendliness of the patrons or the waitstaff. Two weekly Shuffleboard tournaments are now played outside on the patio, where smokers still can indulge in their smoking habits. A nice outside seating area offers some of the most intriguing sunsets in South Austin. Check it out, it's still a bar off the grid what we would have called a neighborhood bar in old lingo. Great music awaits patrons on weekends, and an open mic invites pickers and grinners every Thursday evening. Karaoke singers are welcomed every Sunday night.

Giddy ups is a fun little country bar! I went for open mic and was welcomed by all and got lots of cheers. The venue is a little too smokey, but once you get past that definitely a fun place.
Best music in South Austin and cold beer. A fun place to be. Great events held here often
