District Kitchen + Cocktails
Reviews
District is a pretty cool hidden gym in the Circle C area of Austin. Their Bison burger is to die for. The interior is really nice, new and modern. Wood everywhere which makes it look sweet. The outside patio is nice to have also when there is nice weather. I would attend their happy hour because the prices are a lot cheaper than their regular. Definitely try a lot of their starters. the wings are amazing as well. This place is a for sure try!
I had heard mixed opinion of District but still wanted to try it. Granted, I will have to edit this review once I actually have dinner here because I only had drinks here. It took us a little bit to get noticed by the bar but once we did we were served promptly. We were seated in their great out space and the server was hit or miss. But, Since we weren't eating I know we weren't top priority.
Good, run of the mill food but expensive.... Gave it a try and an ok bison burger but portions and such were too small for a $17 price tag... For you Dr Pepper fans... They don't serve Dr Pepper but a substitute... A bit flat and watered down... Service was good and the atmosphere was cool... Even had a nice patio with misting fans to combat the late afternoon heat... At least the bar had a crowd.. But not the main dining area... But that was Sunday... Way too pricey for my tastes.... Over $70 for 4 people ordering 3 bison burgers and a Cesar salad plus 2 Fake Dr Peppers... No beer or alcohol.
We heard about it from article on great new restaurants. It was good, but I had better. I think it depends on the dish you order. The lamb was the best one out of the ones we tried. It great food for the south Austinites.
I love seeing new bars and restaurants in South Austin and was dying to check out this place. The decor is amazing and after asking the server, we learned that it was done by a neat place in Dallas called STASH Designs. It was a little chilly for the patio when we were there, but it looks to be a nice, big open space. I started off with a Soft Glow cocktail that was quite yummy and ordered the butter nut squash bisque and the bison burger. I have to say that the food was solid, but nothing jumped out for me as being really great. They've just started weekend brunch, so I am hoping to up the star count on the next visit.
