Woody's Wood-Fire Pizza
Reviews
The pizza was good but the restaurant itself lessened my enjoyment of the meal. It's really more a tiny bar that serves pizza rather than a pizza restaurant. This is fine, but only if you're expecting that set-up. The wood-fired oven makes for a great crispy crust, but the restaurant is so small that I left smelling like a wood-fired oven. Plus, a couple of loud, tipsy patrons dominated the conversation in the entire restaurant and intervened in my tables' conversation as well. I don't live in the area, so I can't make use of the carryout service, but I would recommend that for local people as the pizza itself was good enough to eat again. It was nicely crisped with just the right amount of sauce and toppings. Avoid dining in unless you're in the mood for an intimate, smoky tavern experience though.
The pizza was pretty decent, but not the best I've had. If this is the best pizza in Joplin, you best start considering looking else where. Theres much better. However. The service was decent, the food was slightly above average, the building was in shambles. 6/10. I've had better from pizza hut.
Woody's has the best pizza in Joplin, hands down. You can't really beat wood-fire. As mentioned there isn't an abundance of seating and if the company you keep is quiet you can definitely hear conversations.
Very nice staff and excellent food. Looks like a hole-in-the-wall joint from the outside, but food is amazing.
Great (fire wood) open oven thin crust pizza's. Cheap ($7.50) for all u can eat (pizza) lunch buffet.
