Great service, good atmosphere. I ordered the Kansas City strip, and my daughter ordered the ribeye. I think they rolled them both in pepper about 7 times before throwing them on the skillet. Absolutely a waste of a decent cut of meat. Could've cooked it (and regularly do) better myself. Wife had the prime rib, no complaints. Will give the waitress credit, she was super nice, and offered to replace the steaks, but it was too close to closing time to ask for a new meal. Just think it could've been a much better experience with better steaks for the money we spent. Anybody that's EVER cooked and ate a steak should know better than to obliterate it with the seasoning the way they did.
We went there thinking that maybe after a little more than 20 years they would have solved their seating problems... but have not!!, they wanted us to wait for almost an hour to get seated!!, not going to happen!! So lesson learned... I tried twice in a little more than 20 years"! No more!!
Jim Bob's is way better
Four of us and a baby were crowded at a table big enough for two people. We asked for the non smoking area but only a wooden divider separated us from the smokers, therefore the smoke blew strong and heavy in our direction. We were really worried about the baby so we asked for a different table but the waitress told us there were no more available. When our food finally arrived the steak which was supposed to be well done was rare and sent back to the kitchen. It was then returned charbroiled till it was black. The steamed vegetables were ice cold and the salad had wilted lettuce. We also had a hard time getting anyone to refill drinks. Outback Steakhouses have a good reputation overall but this is the worst I have ever been to. Because the restaurant sits right off of a major interstate, the crowd must be travelers that are familiar with other Outbacks because people that live here say the same thing about the cigarette smoke and the food.
The food is awesome as is the Fosters, but this particular Outback has a smoke problem in the no smoking area. It just sort of floats over in. Be sure to ask to be put as far from the smoking area as possible.
