I've been going to this Matador for over 4 years now and for as long as it's in Ballard, I'll continue to be a customer. The food is excellent and the wide variety of tequila is outstanding (I've tried many, since tequila is my favorite liquor) but my favorite part about the Matador is the outstanding bar staff customer service. Matty is the greatest! If you're looking for a great bar in Ballard that plays good tunes and has a young atmosphere, the Matador is the spot to be. Enjoy!
The hostess was attentive & ensured we were helped to a table in the right order. My husband got the green enchiladas and I got the Chile Relleno. The Spanish rice was very unique. Both of our meals were really good. They had a bunch of daft punk and glitch mob playing. The lighting and decor was very nice.
I went in Sunday 5-4-2014, Everything on the luncheon menu was SPICEY to say the least. I asked the waitress if I could get a Carne Asada NO PEPPERS NO SPICEY ETC . She said yes .. She brought it out nice looking veggie and rice. I cut into stake, it nearly melted ti was so tender. I took a bite and my mouth was on fire. I had to spite the stake out. Waitress said they must have marinated it in spices. If you can't eat on fire food stay away. Drink was good food NO.. Be need another GOOD Mexican restaurant in Ballard>
Good atmosphere and good food with quick service. Great happy hour pricing. Get the Texas nachos (feeds 2) and the bacon jalapeños. There's a reason they are circled on the menu.
