After a few misses in Pittsburgh, Casbah came through. Most of the dishes were pretty good, though I think the pork chops are the best. My pasta was very good - great savory and flavorful sauce. Portions were large too. If you're in town and need a solid place to go, Casbah is a great pick.

I found the food mediocre. I ordered the lamb dish and couldn't seem to finish it. My wife ordered a vegetarian dish and enjoyed more than me. I think it's hit or miss depending on what you order. It certainly didn't entice me to go back. The service and decor was very good though.

This was my first outing at Casbah and I was expecting it to be much better, as it was on the top 21 list for Pittsburgh, and the price suggests it. I had ordered the filet mignon medium Rare, which I received medium Well. Afterwards I had asked another member of our party how her filet was, as she was the only other one to order it, and she said her's was way overcooked as well. We both agreed that umder normal circumstances we would have returned the food but neither of us wanted to make a fuss as it was a work related event. It was too dry to finish and was tasteless, something you dont expect at $100 tab per person. Needless to say, I will not be returning (willingly). If you have the money for Casbah, there are plenty of other great restaurants in Pittsburgh to choose from.

Casbah is not what it used to be. Not even the orrechiette can be counted on. We also waited long periods before we could actually order food and drinks despite the multitude of servers milling about. I also don't really dig the music they play. Casbah has never really been a classic rock kind of place. As venues like Mad Men improve, Big Burrito needs to fix things up at Casbah before it opens another restaurant.

Cashbah has valet parking and nice bathrooms, which are two of the most important things to me when evaluating a nice restaurant in Pittsburgh. The food is fine, but it's a bit fussy for my taste. And the service has never been outstanding, but it's always been fine.
