Plum Tree Bistro

After hearing about this restaurant for quite some time, I finally made it for my first visit about 2 weeks ago. I was greatly disappointed. For the prices charged, I was expecting much more. The food was good, not outstanding, but good. The wine list was good, but extremely overpriced. Ex: 40th Anniv bottle of Caymus was priced $100 higher than another restaurant 20 miles away in a much smaller town. Our server was cordial, but seemed to be relatively uninformed and under-trained. The gentleman who greeted us upon entering (chef's husband?) appeared to be dressed for a cookout in his backyard. When we finished dinner and began walking out, we found him sitting at the bar, apparently with some regulars, enjoying himself more than the customers. Most times when my first impression isn't stellar, I'll give the place a 2nd chance. However it's difficult to think about doing that in this situation due to so many issues. I wish them well, but for the high prices charged, there are entirely too many better options available.
A real hidden gem for Greenville. Service was first class. Attention to detail all the way around. Cannot say enough good things about the food. Worth every penny. Chef/Owner even stopped by personally to see how things were and to introduce herself. My only recommendation to her on her comment card was to advertise more. We will be back. Enjoy!
Plum Tree is the best restaurant in Greenville especially if you are looking for a fine dining experience. This is the only place that you can get food like this in Greenville. It is pricey but you certainly get what you are paying for. The staff are phenomenal. There aren't many restaurants left where the chef and the owner come around and speak/check on people. It is small so it is also quiet and the ambiance is perfect- especially if you are looking for special night out with a significant other. I don't get to go often but this is by far one of my favorite restaurants EVER.
5 star. The steak was excellent, the clementine salad was perfect
Visiting town for business stumbled upon this delightful bistro by a chance and had the most wonderful meal. take it from a picky city girl, you will not regret it. perfectly prepared steak, wonderful glass of wine... also just happen to sit next to the owner of the establishment and struck up a refreshing conversation. A must visit in Greenville!
