I used to frequent Mcnally's 2-3 days a week after work for a delicious brew and to enjoy the atmosphere of the patio with a few buddies. I moved to Canada and was unable to make it down to Sioux Falls for 2 years, so I was very excited to come back last weekend to see my old friends. A large group of us wanted to get together for lunch, and the weather was beautiful, so the Patio at McNally's was my first choice. We came in shortly after noon and would have been the only people outside. My wife, myself, and our 2 month old daughter showed up, well-dressed, first with about 1/3rd of the rest of the group rolling in right behind. After a few hugs & welcomes were exchanged, an managerial-looking employee showed up, presumably to seat our group - & Denied us service. He said that we were not welcome to eat there with our daughter along with us. Apparently I am not able to have lunch dinner at McNally's for the next 21 years. It is okay though. Bracco's graciously accepted our party, and their staff even provided us with a car seat holder for our little girl. It is incredible how quickly my favorite restaurant in the city became my least favorite. Nice work Mcnally's.
I had the Shepard's pie, which was delicious! My Friends ordered the special which was lamb shank in a potato crepe, they said it was excellent as well. The waitress was cool and eager to bring what was needed. She probably could have gotten a couple more beers out of us, but brought us the check before we were really ready. Other than that I will be going back to McNally's for some more great food!
Great service great food!
Went there for lunch. Everything was great. Had the Shepherd's Pie (a must have!) and Carrot Ginger soup (so good). The atmosphere was very fun and makes you feel like you're in Ireland. And everyone was very friendly (with Irish accents to boot)- The Manager (Seamus) gave us a tour of the place. Love it!
I had such high expectations for this place but was seriously disappointed. The service wasn't terrible, but the waitress seemed to forget I existed while taking drink orders. I was excited that the macaroni and cheese was on special, but instead ended up eating pure garlic and a box of bread crumbs on top of tasteless cheese- I mean, I guess the noodles were cooked well. My date ordered bangers and mash and it was just not good. You'd expect an Irish pub to use real potatoes right? Wrong. That and the bangers had the consistancy of clay. I suppose it was a good thing that my drink was way too strong, at least it cleared out the taste of the food. All in all, save your money and go to an Irish pub that actually plays Gaelic music.
