Loved this space! Great drinks, decent dj playing all the top 40 drops, and plenty of comfy couches. Went on a Sat night and the guy/girl ratio was highly acceptable
Matrix Fillmore is one of the anchor bars of the Blue Triangle nightlife area of SF. Matrix usually gets packed with a line of people who are ready to drink and party till 2am. On a good night it can be fun. But it can get so crowded that you end up sweating like crazy because Matrix has a gas powered fire place. The drinks are so so and the bar tenders can be rude. As for hooking up, it's up to you and your "game".
I love the music at matrix on the weekends. They definitely do a good job on selecting good djs with excellent talents. EDM is super big there as well. People dress classy and the best part of the night....you can simply walk over to piza orgasmica for a drunk munchie
Small venue that is more upscale looking. It has a pretty good lounge space and one long bar. The drinks are, ok. Accidentally left my credit card there and one of the staff took it and decided to treat himself. Lame! It definitely gave me the wrong vibe and I wouldn't go back if I had a choice.
I have such mixed and conflicted feelings about this place. It has a really gorgeous fire place. I am not sure why they have dressing rooms in the back. It could be such a classy joint, but who wants to wait 45 minutes for a drink while hearing guys complain, "Damn, I got shot down." Shot? by what? The drinks are not at all that stiff and they are over priced. This place does shine on rainy days early in the week like a Monday or a Tuesday where true friends can sit by a fireplace and talk about the simple and pleasant things about life. Avoid on weekends. Do go here on a dark and stormy night.
