We were house shopping in Apache Junction on Saturday 2/14 and decided on Los Gringos Locos for a late lunch/early dinner. We walked in just before 4pm, asked for a booth and the hostess took the 2 of us to an oversized circular booth that could easily sit 8 people. We politely asked for a regular booth and were told we would have to wait while one was cleaned. We said no problem we will wait. Somehow this offended the hostess and she huffed off to clean one of several empty booths. No big deal until she finished bussing the table, put down clean place mats and made a show of purposefully dropping the rolled silverware, one at a time, onto the place mats from shoulder height... with us standing right there! I know, hilarious antics from an immature girl but having worked in the restaurant industry I know that bad service stems from bad management. And bad management leads to bad/unsafe food. We walked out, went to another local restaurant and had a great meal AND great service.
wonderful service and food was great!!! compared to Elvira's around the corner, this place ROCKS!!! Elvira sucks!! thanks for a wonderful meal, we will recommend you to many many people.
The place really is a gem.. Outside patio, great chips good salsa and they have a deal that if ou join their club and sample all their tequilas you get a cartoon caricature with your name painted on a wall inside the bar.
Close to home. Friendly attentive servers. Very tasty food. Not too spicy but there is always a bottle of hot sauce on the table. Our favorite Mexican restaurant.
The food is pretty good, though nothing great. Service is usually pretty good. The only problem I've had is with ordering drinks. One Friday night, my friends and I couldn't get drinks because the girl at the bar didn't know how to make anything on the menu, and another time, I was overcharged for entire shots in addition to what I ordered and when I asked the waiter about it, he gave me a "nothing I can do about it" explanation, which understandably pissed me off. A $25 bill inexplicably became a $40 bill for shots I never ordered. I paid the bill, left a dollar tip for the jerk waiter (I'm normally a 20%+ tipper), and left. Other than that, a decent place. Just hope you have good luck with the bar.
