Hav'nt had a burger at Alfreds for years, I was a little bit disappointed when we had one on Saturday night. I used to cook at Alfreds (on Tuesday nights back in 1957,) we used to make the meat patties on site, the one I had Saturday was obviously a mass produced one & did'nt have the flavour of the 1957 ones . Alfred & his wife used to bog in and mix the meat & seasoning themselves. Also the wait for service was far too long
