We stay at the crown quite often. But I would just like to say a big thank you to the wonderful staff. We had a booking in November for a special family birthday which we had to cancel at short notice due to my dad being diagnosed with cancer had to have emergency surgery. I had booked a special package which was suppose to be non-refundable if cancelled. The hotel has gone above and beyond to accommodate another time for us to use this credit. We look forward to our stay in January.
Great two night stay with a toddler. Really well done rooms, great atmosphere and staff. The Merrywell restaurant worked well for us; recommend the sliders, lollipop wings and bbq pulled pork quesedia share plates.

I attended a childrens' concert here today with friends and our toddlers. After the concert we wanted to have a coffee and a chat, and enquired whether there was a coffee shop in the complex. The attendant directed us in the opposite direction to the cafe, and we ended up at the lobby bar, where the barman said that the cafe we'd been directed to did not exist. He then proceeded to take a ridiculously long time to make the coffees we ordered, whilst glaring at us when the kids made noise. The coffees tasted pretty ordinary, my daughter's babychino was a full cupfull of milk (weird!!) and while we were waiting another lady came up to ask for some chocolate in ehr hot chocolate as it was so weak it tasted like just milk. And now, being wide awake hours after my normal bedtime, it is very obvious that he made my decaf, a regular coffee. On our way back to the car, we saw the dome that we'd been told about originally. Not impressed really.
We had a Melbourne Cup 2014 Charity function. The service in the Astral ballroom is phenomenal. I would love to say the glasswear was sparkling, but i never saw the bottom of my glass. The staff were so efficient, they would be offering to top up as they saw you were finishing off your drink. I have also had a wedding hosted here also and the service was as consistently good.
