Service is awful. They don't do samples for their brews. What place does not let you sample the beer on tap???? Never heard of this. It's going to cost what a whole 10c to do so. Food is basic pub food and prices are super high for Ogden. Many better places on 25th.
When this place first opened, they were pretty hit and miss. However, the past two years have been consistently good if not excellent. Recently, I had the nicest meal quite possibly in my entire life, the red trout with veggies and quinoa. So good.
I have been to many functions where MacCools has provided the food, and it is outstanding. I used them for a Chamber luncheon and not only was the food amazing, but the display on the buffet was terrific and the service extraordinary. I would recommend them for any catering event!

The service is fantastic, the pub is very authentic Irish decor, and the food is very authentic homemade Irish food. Very fun atmosphere. Will definately recommend and be back.
