Levels Nightclub

This place would be great if I was looking to get trampled by obnoxiously drunk college kids while not being able to move an inch. I would rather drive hours farther to go to a better venue.
I went to the Clutch concert on January 15th and never got to see the band. They obviously oversold the tickets, because there were so many people in there you couldn't move at all on the second and third levels. As soon as you started walking (or clawing your way) up the stairs to the upper levels, you were hit in the face with hot, humid air cause by way too many bodies and no moving air. It was so hot on the upper level that I couldn't stand it for more than 10 minutes. There were quite a few pushy-shovey incidents, and an acquaintance of my husband was shoved down the stairs and had a bloody shin and bruises from it. Just ridiculous...we spent most of the time on the first level, where we could actually breathe and get a drink - but couldn't see the band (the stage is on the second level). The club itself has been redecorated completely from the Crowbar days. It's all white and modern, which isn't bad but I miss the industrial rock and roll feel of the old Crowbar. The only reason my rating is even two stars is that the staff worked their butts off. Even they weren't prepared for the massive crowd, but the bar tender that waited on us was a rock star - he hustled, remembered drinks and remained polite and upbeat. Kudos to the staff for doing their best to keep up, but shame on Levels management for their greed in cramming so many people into a concert that it was miserable for the people who were there. I've seen several national acts at this venue when it was Crowbar, and it was never that crowded and uncomfortably hot. It might be good for seeing a local band, but I would never see another national act at Levels.
Trying to plan a trip but their website is not up yet....
