Great place for BBQ in the Outer banks!! The fried chicken breast was delicious! Better than I think I have ever had! The cole slaw was obviously homemade and quite delicious as well. The hush puppies that came on the platter were a treat. Very moist inside but crispy outside. My favorite side was definitely the cornbread though! All in all: WINNER, WINNER CHICKEN DINNER
Excellent food and portions for the price. My husband ordered a half rack of ribs and wished he'd have gotten the 1/4 rack. They fell of the bone. My pulled pork sandwich was great as well. We loved their sauce (the non-Carolina style) - little to no spice, just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely worth a visit.
Warning they dont tell you but the bbq sandwich is spicy. Other than that everything is great. Had the beef and chicken, they were great. Would have rated higher if they would have offered to replace the spicy sandwich.
Ate our last meal in OBX at Sooeys. Very cool place with live music and friendly staff. We ate on the roof deck and had a neat view of the sand dunes across the street. Overall the food was really good, but the ribs were a big disappointment. We are big on BBQ and these ribs were not worth the money. They were really dry and had a lot of fat. We didn't even finish them which was a waste of money.
*SLOW* SERVICE!!! Expect to stand at the counter for 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledges you. They advertise that they have seafood, but only has two, maybe three seafood items on the menu, and they aren't worth your time. This is the second time we have come, because apparently the barbecue is worthwhile, but we have been sadly disappointed with the service both times.
