Dined here for lunch for the first time this week. Had the "daily special" chicken parmesan, which was basically a batter fried breast filet, that was dry and overcooked, (no parmesan at all) served over a bed of greasy, cold spaghetti, with hardly any sauce on it, but LOTS of grease!!!! Don't waste your time or money here,,,,,it's terrible.

Awful! Greeted at our table with "this section is closed! Can you sit somewhere else?!"...actually, no. The hostess just sat us here. 10 mins of being ignored before we're asked for drinks. How about some waters first? One guest ordered a Gluten Free bun with her burger, but when a different waitress brought our order (as I guess the original miserable one quit/got fired/just gave up) she mixed the orders up resulting in our Gluten intolerant guest NEARLY eating something that could cause a severe, nasty reaction. Our gluten intolerant guest noticed this herself and when we pointed this out to our waitress she simply said "oh, sorry". Didn't even remove the $2 charge for a Gluten Free roll from the bill. The final insult - they didn't stock O'Douls, meaning our non-drinking friend had nothing but soft drinks. That's fine, but don't tell us to 'add that a suggestion to the suggestion box' which you don't have... AVOID!

July 5th we arrived at Mulligan’s at 7:45 and we were seated by 8:30. We were not greeted for 10-15 minutes. Our server never introduced herself. No silverware when we got our appetizers. Finally got our food, but server was nowhere to be found and we couldn’t ask for her because we didn’t know her name. We finally found her watching/videoing fireworks. She finally came over to us and my cousin asked if she was done watching fireworks because we needed a round of waters. So the service manager Michelle brought us water and asked how everything was and I told her the food was awesome, but the service sucked. She asked why and I told her our server was watching fireworks and Michelle’s response was “I told them to watch the fireworks”. So my husband was trying to break the tension by asking if she wanted to sit with us and she said no. So he said that’s fine you can just sit with me, and her response was “I don’t think my husband would like that” and my husband said “yeah, neither would my wife”. Then Michelle said, “If she is cute she can watch.” I’m not really sure what the heck I was supposed to be watching. So we finally got our checks, of which two were incorrect. Then when checks were all returned and we were ready to go, I stopped Michelle and told her I didn’t like what she said to my husband and that I could press charges against her. She acted as if she could care less and denied saying everything. She did say she was simply responding to my husband. I told her that as a service manager you do not respond to customers with rude/disturbing comments. I have called the manager, Gus, and I left a message for him to call me back. He did call me back, but didn’t leave a message. So I returned his call again and left a message about our experience that night and left my number again. This time there was no calling back. Gus doesn’t seem to care about his LOCALS. You would think spending $200 and threatening not to return would help….NOT! We did not get to leave Mulligan’s until 10:45pm. We wasted 3 hours of our time that night. Mulligan’s is going downhill fast. You have been warned!

I have to say this was one of the better meals we had while vacationing at the outer banks. The service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and the food was prepared very well. Menu has a nice variety for the seafood lover to the burger eater. My 2 year old ate more seafood here than any other restaurant for a whole week. Had we stayed longer, we would have gone back for a second go. Seafood is fresh. Burgers are great. A must for the vacationer.

Come with your appetite. We ordered the chicken nachos for an appetizer and good lord, it was huge! Definitely no skimping on the portions and the price is affordable. Nice beachy atmosphere, great service.
