Lowe's Home Improvement

Jeannie in carpeting goes above and beyond. It is a pleasure to do business at Lowe's and Jeannie is an asset to your store. We checked out several carpet stores and the service and patience Jeannie showed us was unrivaled. I hope whoever is her boss gets this message. Thanks, Jeannie, for your support and understanding of our situation to assist us in getting exactly the carpeting to fit our home and our budget!
We purchased a Cedar Ridge Hearth gas log set at Lowe's in early November. After having it installed and registering the unit we discovered that the transmitter would not communicate with the receiver. The manuf. was contacted and after a 28 minute wait confirmed that the receiver was defective. We were told they would send a replacement and that it would take 4/5 days, it never happened. Long story made short. On 12/7/13 I returned the set for a full refund. I purchased a lesser (no remote) priced model and was given a 20% discount, thanks Lowe's. I told the manager that the discount was nice but that it didn't cover the cost of the installation and time involved to remove and return the unit. I was told by the manager that he would contact Cedar Ridge so I didn't have to deal with the telephone delays and have them compensate me directly, that was on 12/7/13... It's now 12/17/13 and even Lowe's is unable to make contact with Cedar Ridge. MY ADVICE IS, IF YOU PURCHASE ONE OF THEIR REMOTE CONTROLLED UNITS AND HAVE TROUBLE YOU WILL GET NO HELP FROM CEDAR RIDGE. I suggested to the manager today that they remove the items from their shelf until Cedar Ridge gets their act together and offers customer support. I also told him that I would contact corporate if he was unable to make contact.
I have been shopping the Waterford Lowes and Home Depot for years, neither is perfect, nothing ever is. Having said that the Waterford Lowes has lured me away from Home Depot entirely. It seems like I am at Lowes every single day buying supplies from just about every department and I feel that they have really worked the kinks out and have a top knotch operation going now, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I like the free coffee on the way in the door, Bruce at the pro desk is a good man when you need something done quick and right, Mike Graveline in plumbing and bath is also top knoch, Krista in kitchen cabinets did an excellent job designing and ordering a full Kraft Maid kitchen, it is also good to see the Manager John walking the store old school to make sure everyone is doing their job and checking that you are being taken care of. I like this store, they do a good job.
I live in the area and have shopped at this location for the past 3 years. Our of the 6 samples of paint that I have had mixed about half proved to be problematic. Each time the color that comes out does not match the original sample and they have had to "hand match it." I finally took 3 such samples and complained. The manager spent time "figuring this out" only to make me feel that these problems never could have possibly occurred and I were somehow a figment of my imagination. I still believe that the error has something to do with employee error. After going through the ordeal with the paint, I stood for ten minutes by a paging pole waiting to someone to come help me. Three employees causally strolled by with no effort to come to our aid. I feel the problems that I have encountered are not indicative of Lowes as a whole. The other Lowes I have gone to are never this bad. The problem at the Waterford location is problematic of mismanagement and employees not following procedure.
As always, excellent service - If I need help, and I see an employee, I've always gone to whoever was closest, and asked. If that person was not in the department, they walked me to the person who was. Our family is a Lowe's customer for life! :-)
