Looking for lunch and walked in and almost walked out. Typical dark and lonely place where there were two patrons at the bar and none at the tables at peak lunch time.Terrible, terrible, terrible service. Out of 2 beers on tap, and the beer I did get was warm. They were out of some sides for a burger and the hot wings were average at best. The "cook" gets up from her bar stool at the bar and is inconvenienced when you order. If you go, go for a hole in the wall experience where your expectations are low in regards to customer service. They praise their sliders as the best in town...I should of tried that. Premium liquor on the rocks is your best bet.

This place is the cheers of castle rock. Great food and great service.

I normally only take the time to rate places highly because I think that we tend to concentrate on the negative instead of the positive but this place was so bad I felt that I needed to rate it. In fact, if I could give no stars I would. My boyfriend and I went in tonight because we like local hangouts and have not been able to go here before. The minute we walked in, it was a like we had invaded some private party. It was a smokers haven and the employees just stared at us when we walked in. We found a place to sit and waited 10 mins for service. We were completely ignored even though we tried to flag down an employee several times. They were too preoccupied with what I can only assume to be their usual crowd. If you want to get business, then you need to open your mind up to new people trying you out. If you only want to serve friends, then open a bar in your basement. We were completely ignored, so if you don't want our business, we'll make sure that others know that you do not welcome new business either. Overall a terrible experience. We walked out after several attempts to engage a server or bartender and was completely ignored. Definitely NOT a good local place. I will recommend against this place to anyone I know in the Castle Rock area.

I stop by on my way back to Denver from Colorado Springs every so often. The staff is friendly and the food (the one thing that I've tried) is excellent. The chicken wings with their homemade dry rub is the reason I keep coming back.

What can I say? Smoky, out of the sun, bound to run into friends; It's Castle Rocks number one old-time dive bar with tons of character. Great prices on drinks and attentive staff.
