The Waterfront Restaurant & Cafe

Happened to stumble across this nice restaurant while on a stroll to the Marketplace. Went on a Sunday around 3pm. The restaurant had a nice, clean, quite & beautiful atmosphere. We dined upstairs and had a wonderful view of the water. We ordered the Lobster Sandwhich, Seafood Salad & Lobster Mac & Cheese. The lobster sandwhich was AWESOME! It was a large portion (they must have changed the size since the previous reviews) Seafood Salad had a wonderful lemon based vinaigrette dressing. (A little pricy on the salad, considering the size, but delicious never the less. Lobster mac was good as well, but not to die for. Our food came out quickly and our server was attentive. Only issue was we ordered sodas that came in SUPER TINY glasses with lots of ice and were charged $3.50 per glass (no refills) so we paid $14 for about a can and a half worth of soda. Overall a wonderful restaurant, except for the pricy sodas! :)
Excellent food and service. Scallops were especially delicious. Seating was uncomfortable but otherwise fantastic experience.
Their food is a a little overpriced, but you cannot beat $1 oysters. The lobster sandwich was to die for, but pretty tiny and very expensive. Nice happy hour price to bring a date or a good place to bring a business client.
I took my wife here for a date night and it was only so so. The food was good but not exceptional. We've never had buttermilk calamari so that was a nice change. My wife ordered the salmon and it wasn't anything special. The service was too attentive. Someone was constantly visiting our table cleaning up or asking if we were ok. This type of service may work for some people but I constantly felt I was being interrupted while I was speaking to my wife and I don't make a habit of ignoring servers when they're attending to you so I was constantly saying thank you mid sentence. This also made me feel like we were being rushed. I do have to thank the hostess for holding a table by the view for us. That was nice of her to do.
Fresh Grilled Swordfish, with arugula green side and Meyer lemon aioli Small but thick piece of swordfish grilled with a half a slice of lemon, the swordfish had lots of flavor very delicious, a little on the dry side but I believe that's the process of grilling it, which is not my preferred choice in cooking swordfish but I digress. The flavour was typical swordfish with a light lemony, butter tones with a wonderful texture. It was moist but not as moist as I tend to prefer. The arugula side greens was delicious with a cooked lemon (probably meyer) dressing which was nice, simple and perfect balance to the swordfish. The meyer lemon aioli was divine and complimented the dish completely, even the sour dough bread that was provided came alive with the aioli. All and all a super win. Mixed Grill: Salmon, Shrimp, Lobster tail, Scallops with Serrano Aioli and a side of arugula greens. Jay Dioscuri For me the best thing there was probably the salmon. It was perfectly grilled so that it had that crispy grilled flavor on the outside, but retained the tender texture and oily salmon flavor on the inside. Next was the prawn, which also had the perfect grill flavor and tender moistness. The lobster and shrimp were both disappointing as they both had a rather stale flavor, probably from having been frozen and maybe even a little freezer burned. The lobster still retained some of that buttery lobster flavor, but was overshadowed by the staleness. Both Aolis were perfect! The serrano and lemon respectively were just subtle enough without distracting from the fatty flavor and the perfect creamy texture
