Cotogna

We were looking for some pizza while in San Fran, and stumbled across this place after looking online for a good shop. The wood fired pizza was pretty good, really good. The drinks were good as well, good menu, and some pretty decent looking waitstaff, so my buddies were all happy about that! The only thing this place could have used was a tad better service. It took our server a bit long to greet us, and by the time they did, our mouths were watering watching everyone else eat. Once we got our drinks, which also took a while, we were so hungry. Thankfully, the pizza came shortly thereafter, and we were off. I would go here again because the pizza is just that good.
I LOVE this place. The staff is wonderful: so nice and informed. Grab a seat at the chef's counter if you can. This is my favorite spot for nice evening that doesn't break the bank. I feel like I get a high end meal and service while only spending a bit more than takeout.
Lindsay and Michael Tusk's "rustic" little sister of next-door Quince turns out "terrific" pastas and "wood-fired" pizzas plus other "superb country Italian" goodness (including family-style Sunday suppers) delivered with "top-notch" service; the "casual" Downtown digs can get "noisy" and dinner reservations are "tough" to get, but at least it's "open all day", and thanks to a wine list featuring "all bottles the same price", it's not just for "power brokers." Very fancy. My pasta was a bit overcooked, but very well seasoned. Great service for a slow enjoyable meal.
A very authentic Italian experience--meals are served over the course of the entire meal. Everything is visually stunning and delicious. You can come in with a large group and dine family style around a benched table and watch your meals be prepared over a wood burning oven. For my group we arrived to a prefixed menu with our company logo on the menus--felt very special and the service was excellent!
