fried green tomato eggs benedict sent me though the roof. their pancakes can be eaten with powdered sugar alone. Ambiance sets Morro on the perfect track to be in a food mag. (The only 'wish' on the wish list is the cinnamon rolls to be browned and glaze worked on.) I will definately call this my faborite resturaunt and will put this on my must-visit-again list. Way to go with customer service, small, quaint atmosphere. You should NEVER digress or get too big. just replicate the customer service , food and ambiance and you absolutely NAILED IT.
Rarely do I take the time to write a review, good or bad. But I enjoyed my breakfast so much here, that I must. I ordered the Chili Throwdown omelet, and for the side I chose the breakfast potatoes. Both were outstanding. The omelet was warm, not runny, and the chili was on point. Nothing was overlooked. The potatoes were just as crispy as they should be, and not overly seasoned. On top of great food, the service was on point, never interfering with my experience, but also never leaving me hanging. Even though every table was taken, I only waited about 5 minutes. This is a perfect stop for anyone making the drive north on Hwy 1 towards Big Sur, Monterey, SF, etc., in the morning, or someone heading south from those areas towards Santa Barbara or LA and stopping for lunch in the afternoon. Totally laid back, great food and service.
Great food, funky decor. A great little place to eat.
Do yourself the favor and just go here for breakfast! You are in for such a treat! I fell in love with this place the minute I walked in the door. It is so adorable, funky, and quirky, you just know you are in for something great! The coffee was fantastic (get it "sexy" style and make it even fantastic-er), the Cranberry Kiss (cranberry juice and champagne) delish and the food was phenomenal! I had the Fried Green Tomatoes Eggs Benedict and wowsa! Everything was RIGHT with this dish! And the potatoes that come with it...get in my mouth is all I can say! My Mom and Cousin had the Chilaquiles and they are both hard to please food-wise and could not stop singing their praises. My Stepdad had the Brulee, Souffle, Flambe French Toast and again, another hard one to please and he was quiet the whole meal (which means he was entranced by his food!). The staff were absolutely great too! They accommodated us when we went from a party of 3 to 5 (as inside seating is tight in the small space this place occupies) and our waitress was just on it! They have a decent beer and wine list (though I didn't partake...but next time!) and any place that has a dessert named "Make Your Mama Cry Pecan Pie" already has my seal of approval!
Chilaquiles were amazing
