Went in after seeing those amazing sundae's at the soda bar. Both of us sat down and were ignored by not only 1 girl washing glasses and talking but then another girl came over and started talking to her and then a 3rd girl came around the side of the bar we were sitting and turned her back to us Wow did not even get greeted. Walked out we were invisable.
Its a diner. Nothing more nothing less.
Racist restaurant. Good food and good service. That part is totally accurate. Did not care for the 5-dollar bill with Jefferson Davis' face on it stuck to the wall. For those that don't know, Jeff Davis was the president of the Confederacy (a brief separatist, pro-slavery, insurgency in the 1860's). Using his image instead of Lincoln's is a pretty blunt statement. It was, quite literally, a euphemism for a confederate flag. The fact that it was next to a zero-dollar-bill with Obama's face and a mocking photo of a black guy means I will not be going back. Sorry guys, you want to play that, you might be happy just sticking with Santee tourists and leaving the other 98% of the county to eat elsewhere. Glad we were white enough to get food and service when the snow was falling.
