Vij's

Delightful food. Everything is spicy but everything is well balanced. Nothing will make you wish you could guzzle a gallon of milk. Don't stress about the no reservations. The waiting process is made fun. There's a small bar in the back and seating for waiting and they serve complimentary snacks like spicy naan, and pakora. Average price is about 28 dollars a plate.
Great food, great wine. Soft warm and chewy naan. We went on a Monday near the opening time, no line up and enough seating for everyone. Filled up quickly though.
The food here is not only (nothing special) but, is as mundane as food gets. Now Mr. Vij is trying his hand as one of the sharks in the tank and he is out of place there as well. When are you Vancouverites going to stop supporting marketing of poor overpriced food ? Jambo grill on Kingsway is a combination of African + Indian cuisine and serves far better food than Vij's could ever imagine. The accolades you people offer are unearned and undeserved. You can find far better Indian cuisine on 41st & Main at a far cheaper price. If you know nothing about food, stop writing idiotic articles. Unsuspecting readers may take your advice and waste their time eating overpriced slop.. Thank you.
Well worth the wait. We have been eating Indian food for a long time. We didn't recognize any of the dishes but it didn't matter. They were all great.
The service was very welcoming and everyone is on top of everything. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Polite and hard working. The food was simply out standing. So simple, yet full of flavor. Fresh, savory, and super delicious. The only drawback for me was that the portions are really tiny, and you probably have to eat something before coming to the restaurant - or that's probably cause I'm a big man, and need a bigger meal! Definitely will visit this place again!
