If you are thinking for a second of booking a table here… think twice. We dined as a small group and as a whole we won’t return. The décor is pleasant and modern, but with hard furnishing everywhere you would struggle to hold a conversation as a romantic couple, let alone a group. The staff seem to be happy and relatively upbeat which is refreshing however their mood hides their lack of basic skills in cleaning tables, taking orders etc. our drinks order was taken twice as the first time the lady did not have a notepad and tried to remember the whole order (for 12 people!). The second time (different waiter) could not get our orders right. A Southern Comfort and Coke was ordered and after 15 mins the first waitress returned to ask how we wanted the Southern Comfort (on the rocks, lemonade…). If you order a wine the staff won’t know which white or red wine is yours by the time they get to you table so make sure you all order the same wine. You begin at this point to hope the food is good as the service has been lacklustre. You take a look at the menu which is printed on plain A4 paper and stapled together at the top, clearly not reflecting the prices inside, which would normally dictate something leather bound. Two people at our table ordered the $68 - 1kg steak, one cooked well done and one cooked rare, both to come with pepper sauce and vegetables. The steaks arrived at the same time one cooked medium-well and the other well done, both without sauce and one with vegetables, and one with no cutlery. If you have ordered a 1kg steak for $68 you clearly love steak and you would expect it to arrive on the bone or in one piece and cooked perfectly. The steaks had been cut off the bone into slices and left with the bone sitting on the plate. The medium well steak was returned and to be replaced with a steak cooked rare. After waiting 35 mins and having the whole table finish their meals a new steak was served and was undercooked Blue Rare. The waiter asked for our feedback on the new steak after it was eaten and we informed him that it still was not cooked to order and that we did not have another 35 mins to wait. He did not apologise but thanked us for the feedback. Dessert was next and prices ranged from $12 to $30+, we were asked by the waiter if we wanted dessert menus and he left to get them. 20 mins passed and we went to the bar and asked another waiter for the dessert menus, the first waiter had clearly forgotten us. The dessert menus finally arrived and the chocolate mousse was ordered by several at our table and the verdict was the same. It was not a mousse. It had been frozen and was more like an over rich chocolate ganache. As the tables were cleared the waiter elbowed some of us several times and made no motion to apologise and rushed to clear the table. In this whole experience you would be a little understanding if the restaurant was extremely busy however this was not the case. At an average of $75 per head for our group, go elsewhere and actually enjoy your night.
