Latah Bistro

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because we waited a little long for the waitress to come back to ask us what we wanted for dessert and there are literally 5 star restaurants out there. The food was super delicious (mine and my girlfriends), and the place looks pretty nice on the inside. prices range from 15-30 per plate and appetizers were about 4-12 dollars. Currently waiting on the dessert to come but overall, I would definitely come back here again. Love the food.
My boyfriend had planned a surprise Valentine's Day dinner here. And on my way home to change for the surprise I had gotten in a car accident. At the hospital asking him not to tell me where the reservations were for, I had him reschedule for the following day. We got to Latah and mind you, I'd been here before. I'm vegan and my boyfriend called numerous times and asked if there were options for me and they told him yes. First off, there is barely anything for a vegan. Unless you want a pizza with no cheese. We paid $22 for a two inch piece of chewy cod and three potatoes and the service was terrible. It was like we were a bother to our waitress, who waited twenty minutes to get our appetizer order and another 20 minutes to get our order. She was more interested in the table next to us. Not a great way to end my week. Or our first Valentine's as a couple. Will never come back again. At least the chef said goodbye to us as we left! So I know we weren't invisible.
Great Choice Near Cheney; When looking for a fine dining establishment close to Cheney and Eastern Washington University, the Latah Bistro is one of the top to be considered. We have been there 3 times in the past week and every time we enjoyed it more. The wine selection is very good and the meals make you want to come back for more. I am giving it 4+ stars only because it is a bit expensive for students on a budget but still worth saving up for those special occasional special dinners. When you're in Cheney, take the time to drive over and enjoy a great time at the Latah Bistro.
Great food, nice selection of wines, exceptional service....big price tag. A good, but modest, dinner for two with a bottle of wine was over $100. Save this place for a date night, regular dinning will put a dent in your finances. That said, I'm glad I went at least once.
Really good place to eat, I highly recommend it.
