Rusty Moose Bar & Grill

Who would ever expect a restaurant of this caliber in Airway Heights? Not me. I passed it up for years thinking it was a dolled up version of Red Robin. Wow, was I ever wrong. The menu is terrific with dishes such as fresh wild salmon (cooked to your choice) with steamed vegetables, and blackened rice. They also offer grass fed steaks with organic greens. Many other choices as well. The food is worth a trip out the Heights. The restaurant interior is very nice with a nicely done rustic interior.
Delicious food, great staff, amazing cooks! Jesse is the best - has amazing customer service and is dedicated to make sure you have an awesome experience every visit. Seafood bisque is our favorite!
Everything about the meal was substandard. I had the 6oz steak for $17. I asked for medium - it came to the table one notch above raw. The steak was pretty tasteless and I was not offered any steak sauce. It came with a baked potato with a big black (bad) spot in it and some zucchini. You can get a salad for an extra $2 and something. I know I could have sent it back to get cooked better and asked for steak sauce, but it was late and I was very hungry and just ate it like it was. Partner had the ribs - they were pretty dry but tasted ok. They came with like a shredded french fry and coleslaw (I thought the coleslaw was good). We were facing a huge drive and I was still holding out hope so I got an apple pie ala mode to go. This was like a muffin (a very small muffin) with a few pieces of apple in it. It didn't really have a pie crust - it was more like a breading. The ice cream never melted... which made me think it was not all natural by any means. The ice cream tasted good but they sure didn't put much on it - like a melon scoop. So... $50 later for two of us and we both agreed that we would have preferred just about any other restaurant... even a salad at a McD's. We did see some hamburger plates coming out that looked pretty good but we will never be back to try them. The place is clean and has a nice, rustic feel.
Simply awesome! Great decor, awesome staff, and very decent food (you can tell there is some dedication to it not just sauce...). I travel a lot, and have been in many places, and this is one of my top 10 (out of 100+). Recommended hand down. And I didn't get the chance to try the craft beers and whiskey...
I love the Rusty Moose. I frequent many restaurants around the country and they certainly compete with the best of them. The Prime Rib dip is always my "go-to" and their lounge is the perfect atmosphere. Thank you for doing a great job!
