A neighbor recommended this place. I was REALLY disappointed. The menu choices are fried chicken or chicken-fried steak. That is it. The remainder of the meal is without options. Salad is lettuce-only iceberg lettuce- with their dressing. Vegetables are only mashed potatoes and whole-kernel corn with a white sauce on it. Neither was good. The biscuits are good. We had the chicken-fried steak and it was good, but the meat portions are too large for a reasonable meal. Our meal was mid-$30s for two people with no dessert. Certainly high for the quality of the meal. We will not return.
This place is good food if you wait the line, can be short or long and eat in. I have taken it home 2 times and both did not leave a good experience.
My only "gripe" is the salad they provide you with. Lettuce and a sweet oil/vinegar splash is not a salad to me.
But otherwise I suggest folks visit the place.
AHHHHH.... the satisfying smell of babe's chicken. Too much for my soul. Too good for the stomach and too bad for the heart. But it's good. My son Ben loves it.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. The chicken fried steak was to die for and the helpings they gave you were enormous, all for a great price. I even loved the salad!! I'd highly recommend this if you're in the Roanoke/Fort Worth area.
The place is one of the original Babe's Chicken Restaurants , the food is delicious and the service is top notch!
