Depends on the day/evening you are there and if the manager named Brent is working. He has terrible customer service skills and frequently speaks poorly about patrons that call in or walk in right before closing only becuase I have heard it myself. Last night was by far the reason we will never step foot in this location. We will drive to Round Rock and continue to eat there, unless something happens of course but considering we got to both frequently then I highly doubt the RR team will ever go wrong. It was my birthday dinner, we used Google to ensure the closing time. On Google for the Georgetown location is says 10:30pm for closing. Sounds great becuase it was 9 or 9:15 when we walked in. I ordered the shiner fish and chips, cup of chicken and dumplins for my son and a piece of cake. My husband didnt want anything at the time. After the order was placed the waiter was walked by and I yelled sir, he came over and I asked if we could add the blackened talapia plate for my husband as he was in the bathroom. He said um, I am not sure let me go ask my manager. Thought that was odd but I will explain that. He comes back and says ok that will be fine but the fish and chips were already prepared. Given how much of a poor customer service person the manager is I was actually in shock, The food then comes out, the talapia and dumplings. No shiner fish and chips. I asked the waiter where the fish and chips was, he stated he thought I was changing my order to the talapia. I said no that is for my husband. He said I will be right back. So what do I get? I get a basket with one of the pieces of fish missing becuase someone in the back ate it. So he tells me they are cooking another piece right now. First off, you are bringing out fish that is no longer warm but had other people breathing and eating off of it. Really? Not cool. Did I eat it.Nope, did it get taken off my bill? Nope. Gross is all I can say or think. A whole new order should have been placed. So we are there thinking they close at 10:30, not realizing that Google is wrong they close at 10, trust me we would never disrespect the hours of a restaraunt. Here is the icing on the cake, the lights shut off and the manager tells us they are closing and we need to get out. My son got scared. Not one time did anyone tell us they were closing, not one time did someone at least come by and say hey just so you know we are closing soon. Really? How hard is that. Not once, instead you yell at us to get out and shut off lights. Real professional. So this now brings up another time I was there with my son and we were at one of the samll booths in the middle second booth back and all I can hear is the manager Brent talking about how if someone comes in to eat right before they close he will refuse them. The other guy standing there says what if they call in an order? Brent said well they better call it in earlier if they want it otherwise we are not making it. Really? Karma kicked his butt becuase 5 mintues before closing three people came in to eat. Did they seat them, sure did. My point there is that you should not be talking poorly or treating your aptrons poorly as they are the reason you get a paycheck each week.
Go in Monday for the chicken fried steak special! Rolls are nice and buttery. Large portions, but slightly overpriced. Pretty view. Staff is very friendly.
Their Grilled Chicken Salad gets 4 stars and my husband says their small CFS is tender, so 4 stars there as well. At the same time, however, the burger I had today was the worst I've ever had anywhere, so 1 star for that. And their unwillingness to seat incomplete parties has compelled us more than once to go next door to Fish City Grill (in Wolf Ranch, Georgetown, Texas), so 1 star for that. We like their outdoor patio much moreso than the lack of ambiance inside, so 3 stars overall.
Monday night. Chicken Fried Steak (Chicken, Pork) for$6.99 is a pretty good deal and the food is tasty.
They don't have any vegitarian options other than salad. I ended up ordering sides and none of them were anything to write home about. The service was good but that's about all that was good.
