Imagine it's one of those rare Texas days where the sun is out, but you're face is not melting off. Now imagine your in the shade of a gorgeous old live oak tree and you have a delicious margarita in your hand. Welcome to Chuy's north. Chuy's has become such a well-known brand, I won't bore you with the details of the creamy jalapeno dip/dressing/drink/accessory or any of their other smack-yo-mama-good food. However, this location blows all the others right out of the water for the patio alone. Not only is there large patio, they have a large outdoor waiting area where the kids can wander while a lovely young server brings you your (third?) delicious margarita. Also, did I mention they have free valet parking? Holla!

Service is always top notch and the food is absolutely delicious. Best Tex-Mex in Austin! I do wish they would bring back the fried ice cream.

Great outdoor patio/garden with big trees for shade to keep cool under. The happy hour chip bar is fun. They have salsa and queso. I like to ask for the creamy jalapeno to dip my chips in. They have a great variety of food menu items from quesadillas, salads, tacos and enchiladas. My favorite thing to do is to bike there eat some chips and have a beer margaritas outside.

Everyone in Austin already knows Chuy's is money. Not "money" like expensive... "money" like they use in the movie, Swingers. Their happy hour is definitely happy. How can you NOT be happy with free queso/ground beef/refried beans? Plus drink prices are especially affordable during happy hour. If you go during regular hours, the appetizer plate is where it's at. More than enough for the table to share and it gives you a taste of a lot of what they have to offer. Then, ponder the menu and as long as you get something with boom-boom sauce, you won't be disappointed. Pro tip: You can order any of their burritos in a half size. Learned this talking to the bartender one time. Great for if you aren't exceptionally hungry or if you're like me and your leftovers always go bad before you remember they're in your fridge.

Love their food, their enclosed outdoor space, and they do an exceptional job with their to go food, which is nice when the line to eat at the restaurant is out the door. Just wish they would police their to go parking spots more closely, as parking is always an issue when they are busy.
