Black Walnut Cafe - Four Points, Austin

I really love this place. It's calm and fairly quiet, the food is awesome, the coffee is better than Starbucks, and service is well-trained, respectful, and courteous. Thanks
So happy when this place opened. There are few good sit down places to eat in this area. This place really hits the spot. There are so many options for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. You just can't pass it up if you are in the area. They have delicious crescents and anything breakfast item for the matter of the fact. There is a lot of good seating areas. The desserts are so good!
Enjoyed all the times I've come here. Food is pretty good & the place is spacious! It has the dark wood, upscale library feel to it. It's good for groups (sat 6 ppl here no problem-- on a Saturday at 9:30am). Parking is a pain sometimes, but that's pretty much everywhere in Rice Village. Honestly, I haven't had a bad meal here yet, but I've only gotten salads or breakfast items. Really love the Texas Challah French Toast-- light, airy bread with a slight crispy exterior & lemon honey whipped butter. $7
wonderful!!! my dad and i both had a salad and from the very first bite neither of us could stop saying how good it was! loved the booth, loved the decor... and that salad! so good! yes, patrons get their own silverware and drinks but who cares? the management cares... a manager came to our table just to see how things were and he was very engaging and seems truly happy that we were happy! check this place out. you won't regret it!
My wife and I checked this place out today. First, this isn't a sit down restaurant, it's an "order at the counter, pick up at the counter when it's done" kind of place. Other than that, though, it's very much like a sit down restaurant with nice tables and booths, and a lounge area in the front by the window. I had the roast beef and my wife had the "Otis Otis Otis." The meat in my dish was a little dry, but the very obliging manager on duty brought me extra gravy, which made it very good. The smoked mushrooms and garlic potatoes accompanying the meal were also quite delicious, as was the asiago dressing I had with the salad. My wife enjoyed the "Otis." Soft drinks are also serve yourself. The dispenser is a computerized thing on which you can select anything available, including Coke with various flavor adds. The music playing was nice, though it appeared to be streaming on a computer and it would cut out every so often. That was a little annoying, but not terrible. There were also some televisions in the various dining areas showing sports. Desserts and a full bar are also available. All in all, this was a good place.
