The Tower Theatre

Cool place, easy to get in and out of, parking on street or in a garage closr by. Old place but kept well and modernized
Philly fans are intense much like New Yorkers. They are loud and raucous and are totally engrossed in the music. Unlike the drunken mobs in VA and MD, Philly fans usually don't talk, yell, and scream until the musicians finish playing.
The theater itself is a great venue as far as size and sight lines. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Keep in mind that the first 20 or so rows have been removed for GA shows so the pictures and seating charts are inaccurate. They are a little disorganized as far as getting people into the theater. There are only 2 -3 agents taking tickets and it's very slow which leads to people cutting the line with zero enforcement. Once inside, get to the rest rooms quickly as there are only 2 available on the lower level (the only level that was open for our show) and they are VERY small. The staff were very friendly and seemed to be very patient with the number of people who were having issues with tickets. I also found that the workers inside the venue were great. There are 3 bars on the lower level. The emphasis is on alcohol sales with very limited snacks available. Beers were NOT cheap at $8 and $11 for drafts. The sound was very good in the venue and whether you were in seats or on the floor the view is very good. We were able to move within the crowd on the floor after being in seats for the first half of the show. The neighborhood isn't the greatest and forget parking on the street. We parked at a lot 3 blocks away and got out quickly.
Renovations being done.... Things just seemed a little weird & it felt as though they sold to many tickets for the amount of seats they had.
In 1975 I saw kiss perform. In 1990 I saw Bob Dylan perform twice. And also in 1990 we saw The Go Go s perform The place is legendary .And I hope to see many more groups in the future. Jerry Di Trolio
