Chris Lane - March 08, 2015

It's unfortunate that my wife and my anniversary dinner was the lowlight of our celebration this year. I give two stars because my wife had a seafood dish which she seemed to really enjoy, though there was a bit of crab lung in my bite of her crab meat–something I don't expect from a $30 dish. My meal, on the other hand, was a train wreck. They label themselves a seafood and steak house, so I was expecting competence in the steak department. I ordered a $36 fillet a bit more well done than medium-rare, so the waitress said, "the kitchen is very busy tonight, so I'll just put down med-rare and we can always send it back," a pretty average response when I order my steak that way. I also ordered a scotch with one ice cube to be brought with the meal, which she confirmed. When the steak came out it had obviously come off the grill before my wife's food was finished and was waiting to be brought to the table. Besides the fact that the steak wasn't warm, it was, at beast, rare. I had eaten a few bites of the steak, the side of (mediocre) green beans, and some of my wife's mashed potatoes before we were checked on and my scotch (a skimpy, almost finger and a half pour, simply neat) came out. I showed the waitress my rare, and, by this time, just plain cold steak. She took it to the back. The next steak came out and while it, at least, was warm it was, again, simply seared on both sides and very rare. I eventually showed this steak to the waitress too, which she confirmed was entirely more rare than ordered (just med-rare would have been great now), was very apologetic, and offered to take this steak back two or three times.Yet, at this point, my wife was finished with her meal, so I wasn't going to make her wait any longer. The steak was pretty flavorless, and was, honestly, just as unmemorable as a $10-15 steak at Outback. For the $125 we spent (after gratuity), the service was surprisingly poor compared to other restaurants in this price range. Typically with such an experience the restaurant tries to show they are eager to please, a manager is sent over, apologies are offered, and something (even if a dessert) is comped, but here?Nothing, not even a manager with apologies (and I wasn't going to call one over during my anniversary dinner). I wasn't looking for a handout, but in my opinion it's simply good customer relations for those who are spending good money. I will probably not return here, it was simply and plainly dissapointing. Chart House, Ruth's Chris, and Morton's provide great food and experiences and are just down the road; in the future I will look to these establishments instead. I forgot to mention, curiously there was a balled up pair of underwear and a broken belt on the back of one of the toilets in the stalls. While a bit humorous too, I suppose, their attention to detail (though I'm not so sure restroom cleanliness is that small of a detail) concerning the restaurant atmosphere/experience affected more than just their food.

I attend the Pool & Spa Show in Atlantic City the last week of January every year and always make it a point to have at least one dinner here. As I live in RI, I also frequent the Providence and Fanueil Hall M&S. The food is PHENOMENAL! Chain restaurants are notorious for bland pre-made commissary style food. Not so with the this chain. When I travel, I always look to see if there is McCormick & Schmick's nearby. I'll have dinner solo at the bar or if I need to take a client out this is my go to spot. You really cannot beat the quality and consistency of their menu. If....you like super fresh fish, you'll love M&S If....you want to impress a date/client/anyone, M&S is perfect If....you like salmon, their Atlantic salmon stuffed with crab & brie will send you to food nirvana...it is a must! If...you love a crab cakes and are not in Maryland, have theirs. Either as an appetizer or entree, it is THE BEST CRAB CAKE outside of Maryland I have never had any issue with service at any location - they are always very courteous, pleasant and professional. Cannot say enough good things...Try them - if not in AC, then another location. You won't be disappointed.

I planned a birthday party for my boyfriend's 30th birthday (Aug 16th). The review below was from a guest that attended and I will agree with her that the customer service was very unprofessional. Each guest paid around $60 dollars on a pre fixed menu and ordered drinks and for the waitresses and managers to just tell us that they are busy that night is unacceptable. There is no reason anyone should wait an hour and a half for soups/salads and 45 minutes for a drink and then have the general manager do nothing about it. To top that off, I wrote an e-mail to the banquest manager the next morning about my experience and she never responded to e-mail and I'm assuming I will not get one. This was my first time visitng a McCormick's and unfortunately will be my last!!!

ZERO STARS -attended on 8/16/14 Booked days ahead of time for a party of 24 with a fixed priced menu got there on time and it took 1.5 hours to bring out the salads, another 45 mins for dinners -they skipped people bringing out salads and they had to wait even longer. also skipped people bringing out desserts and then they never got them at all. they only came to fill up water 2x the entire night (3 hour long dinner because of how slow they were)- we had to go get our own water. -Only took drink orders 1 time and they drinks took 45 mins to come out -They charged everyone $60 for the fixed price menu that they failed to execute in a timely manner. We had 1 person that needed something that wasn't on the fixed menu because of diet restrictions and they were rude to her. Rude to the whole table and when we spoke to management about it they did nothing and they did not care at all. What a horribly run restaurant. the 2 women managers on duty that night should be fired.

I am from Philly and decided to check out McCormick & Schmick's at Harrah's Casino for my 52nd birthday (July 5th) and I am glad that I did! The food was superb and the service was excellent! I especially enjoyed the private room and the V.I.P. treatment! I am looking for to returning again with more friends. I'm a customer for life!
