Bonfire's Tortilla Bar
Reviews
Alright....I've been a fan of Bonfire's for years, It's the only "burrito bar" in town. I've seen a drop in quality each time we've eaten here for the past few years....but hey, like I said, it's the only place within driving distance to get a burrito with the works without spending hours in the kitchen. After tonight's experience, we've now gone from fans to non-patrons. I got my normal steak and chicken burrito on cheddar jalapeno, and every other bite, I got gristle. Talk about the worst thing you can possibly bite into in a burrito. My wife said it best - "after that, you can't trust it" - meaning every bite after the first, I was wondering when the next terrible, "spit it out" bite would be. I got more than a couple of mouthfuls of un-chopped cilantro...I actually pulled out a full sprig with stem and all. The onion in the pico de gayo went from normal chop to huge pieces. Both my wife and my tortilla were stale - to the point of crunchy at the end (no, we're not mistaking overheated for stale, they tasted stale). Whoever is prepping the food is LAZY, and it shows up glaringly in the food. If they want my family's business back, they'll have to start taking pride in the food they are serving...as in put some effort into removing fat from the meat, chopping the vegetables, and throw away stale tortillas.
its inexpensive and the food is great!!
Wow....awesome place. So glad I stopped. Food was unbelievablely good. Be sure to try the after burner sauce.....it kicks it up a notch. It's a favorite in my GPS now...
Went for the first time today, but it definitely won't be the last. It is very good.
For a build your own burrito bar it's ok. I was really impressed until I saw everything was canned. Make some fresh food.
