The Lunch Buffet is of great quality compared to other chinese buffet style restaurants. However ordering off the menu is a little disappointing. I ordered Pad Thai 3 times here so far, every time asking for "Thai Hot. From 1-10 make it an 11. Make me cry" and never have they delivered. Just sriracha, which isn't quite the same effect as potent chili oil... It's also very pricy for the portion. I dunno. If your only interest is a decent lunch buffet then 5 stars but otherwise I'm not convinced they can deliver the rest of their menu.
The waitress and hostess were super unprofessional and terrible at explaining the whole endless sushi deal, which really wasn't a deal since we ended up paying 60 for 4 rolls and an appetizer that we could have gotten at Sushi Ya for half the price and better quality. The warm sushi we ordered came cold, and they charge a $5 waste fee if you have leftovers, so it felt like an eating competition the whole time. Honestly wish I never went, we left upset and frustrated with the unprofessionalism and price.
Always luck out when I go to this restaurant and get the same server. She is always on the ball, never any complaints. The food is amazing, love the lobster specialty roll definitely a favorite. I would go every week if I didn't live so far away.
Good mix of well executed traditional dishes along with some interesting fusion twists. Great for a nice sit down dinner or the lunch buffet.
I have no idea what is wrong with the other people reviewing Xiao. Two stars!? Really!? Don't listen to any of them. Let's begin, my wife and I are constantly in search of good Asian food, and we found it at Xiao. This is by far the best Asian food in the Lansing area. The atmosphere is really cool and mellow, and the service was excellent, and when I asked them to make my food spicy THEY DID IT! perfect the first time. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
