Sips

One of my favorite places to eat in Southwest. Always great food and very personal service whether there are two of us or eight of us eating there.
Excellent source of good food and drink!
Four of us stopped in for a light lunch in mid-June, just before the tourist season. The coffee, food and service were fine, and the staff were very nice. The interaction of the staff with one long-term customer made it apparent they are caring and provide a very high level of hospitality.
Food was AWESOME. No really....it was very very good. Our complaint is live music there. Our group of nine people could not hear ourselves think. It's much too small a place for amplified music. Besides.....if you have really good food, you don't need music! Because of the music we left early and had dessert at another place.
Our party of six stopped by on a Friday night. The restaurant was less than half full, but the service was pitiful. We were seated quickly, but then ignored for twenty minutes, until one of my party actually stepped up to the bar to request service. They advertise the best margarita you have ever had, so I figured it would at least be worth trying. Wrong! If you like flavored cool-aid this might be worth trying, The bartender stopped by to ask how it was, and when I responded that it was a little weak he copped a serious attitude. Rather than attempting to make it right he informed me that he could make me another one "by the book". I asked if this was his way of informing me he could make one even weaker, which he agreed would be the result. We also ordered the cheese plate, which was tiny & uninspiring. As we were a party of six they also added the 18% gratuity. Standard, but disappointing, as I generally tip relative to the service I receive. We walked another 1/2 mile down the street & discovered Fiddler's Green, which was a wonderful & positive contrast to Sips. Sips is NOT recommended.
