Chaps Pit Beef

Awesome place to eat good food good people and the prices aren't bad for the amount of food that you get the guy john Draper that sheds the customer service is horrible is full of s*** the service is fine this isn't a fine dining restaurant where you get served you get your food you eat it and you go home that's about it I recommend it to everyone
Maybe it's because I'm more understanding of food industry workers, but I thought the customer service was fine. You aren't being served here, you walk in, order your food, get it, eat it, go home to nap. They have an enforced no cell phone policy. Ok so if you are waiting for a call, take your food to go. Otherwise sit down at the table with your family or friends or coworkers and have a meal together. ANYway, the food was absolutely amazing. We stood in a long line (that moved fairly quickly) and still managed to get our food about 5 minutes after ordering. VERY efficient. My experience here told me exactly why that place grew to be what it is. Awesome. Loved it.
it doesn't get more "Bawlmer" than this. Situated off Pulaski Highway and the Harbor tunnel (in the lot of a gentleman's club no less), this place is worth the drive. Pit beef, that only to Baltimore style of grilling that's not quite BBQ, is done to perfection here. A long and winding menu with variations and combos on a theme (pit beef, pit beef with pit turkey, pit turkey with sausage, etc), you really can't go wrong with any selection. Don't pass up the toppings bar (it's only a real Chaps pit beef sammich if you put onions, the homemade bbq sauce and tiger sauce on it). Skip the Cattleman's BBQ sauce, that stuff is no good.
The service is terrible. We're talking gulag guard level. More than just rude, but mean, contentious and over the top disrespectful. The sarcastic staff treated my family and other customers like dirt. They've gone far down hill. The angry voice of the door chime chanting "Close The Door" incessantly for the whole meal was a classy touch as well.
Ate here at 2 pm on a weekday and you would've thought it was noon with the quality and line if people to.eat. Only.took about 5 mins from getting in line to get my food. Ordered the beef sandwich as it was my first time here and it was every bit as good as advertised. Menu is well priced for the quality and quantity you get. Will definitely be coming back to try the other items
