Cask & Larder

Get Everything!!! Started W seafood tower, crab, prawns, raw oysters were great/fresh/etc, homemade hotsauce, roasted oysters, pickled octopus and mussels, and blackened tuna, were crazy, each bite had flavor pairings that blew our minds! Followed that W oxtail, brisket, and country ham tasting, and again I don't know how any of these could be better. Those chicharones on the ox tail were so delicate and those, sour strawberries, and richness of the meat just perfect combo. Had beer flight followed W golden for all this, all were good but that golden was so smooth, velvety, and had a really unique nutty-hoppy finish that was delicious, best description I've got is campfire toasted hops. Dinner was followed with custard W bruleed blood orange and sage Carmel, bread pudding W white chocolate mouse milk chocolate sauce and cookie crumbles and mocha sorbet, and in either of these if you change or remove any of those ingredients the valet should be allowed to shank you. BTW the coffee even was stellar and complimentary valet? It is clear that everything you put in your mouth is carefully curated, contemplated, and constructed. Will consider coming back to Florida just for this.
I am not shy about my love for southern food. Growing up with northern based parents, I never had the pleasures of sweet tea, fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese and the like. Now that I have gotten older and have traveled to many foodie cities of the south, I have developed a crazy love for all things southern. One of the great things about this place is that they have many "small plate" items. I love this because it enables you to try many things without over-ordering like crazy (which I am notorious for doing because I always "want a little bit of everything") You can't go wrong with the country ham tasting. The biscuits and pepper jelly that come with it are out of this world. I get it every. single. time. I never knew there was much of a difference in types of oysters until trying the sampler here at C&L. It included both East and West coast oysters and our server was fantastic in explaining the differences between them. I'm a sucker for condiments and the mignonette that was served alongside was a great accompaniment without being overpowering. The reason for not giving this place the full 5 stars however is that I have gotten a few entrees that I just haven't been crazy about. The past few times I have stuck with appetizers and the small plates and have been extremely happy with my choices. Oh and if you're a fan of brussel sprouts.. hell, even if you're not, make sure to try an order. These were perfectly charred and crispy with a sweet and spicy glaze and truly one of the best vegetables I've ever had in my life. The brunch is phenomenal.
Great place, the best food and flavor Ive had umm ever so far! Worth every penny and service was the same! I'm making this place a regular for my family.
Cask and Larder is great quality food that is extremely tasty. They offer so many interesting takes on traditional southern/bbq staples that it's always hard choosing what to order because I want to try them all. Beer is great, cocktails may be even better with a great selection of bourbon/whiskey/rye. Everything I have tried there has been unique, tasty, and always executed exceptionally well. Brunch this past Sunday was really well done as well, definitely stop in for brunch if you can. People criticizing their creative take on dishes need to realize that if everything was the same, and traditional, it would be pretty boring going out to eat. I am glad that creative places like C&L bring new and creative dishes to the table.
Cask & Larder is a local favorite. They always have impeccable service and amazing food. Everything on the menu is fantastic and the restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere. The menu changes frequently so the food is always making use of what is in season. The menu items are always creative and exciting. Highly recommended.
