Mulberry Street Bar & Grill

I believe the pizza part of this used to be papa gios which was ok. now, I decided to give it another try since papa gios moved to Waterford and wow! just like at home on long island. and you know they're doing it right when they have ny size pizza. plus, the pizza guy is a mets fan and the cook is a Yankee fan and they go at it all the time. it's like I never left ny. they turned me from being a 14 year loyal customer of goodfellas. I haven't tried they're canoli yet but the owner makes it from scratch at home because he doesn't want anyone else knowing the recipe! they're white pie is amazing, too. haven't had their Sicilian pie yet either. if you want ny pizza, go here.
Waooo!!! really good pizza and the calzon is the Best!!. Thanks Benny you are the Best!!!
They have a very friendly staff, but the food is actually even better. Funny enough they are a sports bar, but have some of the best Italian food around.
This review is based on my second visit to Mulberry Street Bar & Grill in Avalon Park, FL. My fiancee' and I have tried their delivery service before and loved it! So, we thought we would visit the restaurant for an even better experience. During my first visit, the food was as good as ever, but the service was mediocre at best. I figured the waitress was having a bad day that day and shrugged it off. Just last week, I visited again and was barely greeted by Scott, our waiter. He told us to sit wherever we want, so we did. He offered to start us off with a drink, so we look at the menu, and Scott responds by saying there is not much of a drink menu in a bad attitude. By then, I already wanted to say forget it and leave, but we gave him a chance. After waiting over 5 minutes for our drinks as he served others their Bud Light, he finally comes back with 3 drinks in his two hands and tells us to grab our drinks from his hand. Now I'm ready to just grab the check and go, but we still stayed anyway. A few minutes later, he passes by again to slam (no, I am not exaggerating) our plates down before checking on his apparently far bigger tipping customers outside. Our food arrives, thanks to another, much kinder waitress and we dig in. Scott checks up on us for a half-second on the way to fraternize with the drinking crowd outside. After asking for a box for our left over food, Scott brings us a box and the check. I lay down my credit card with ID, which he barely checked and proceeded to cash me out. In my opinion, he did not even deserve a tip, but still tried to take the high road and left a 20% tip before leaving the table. We get to the front door and I attempt to thank Scott and wish him a good night, only to be ignored on the way out the door. It's this kind of experience that deters me from eating at this restaurant ever again. It's a shame that their customer service is nowhere near as good as their food. I could see myself being a repeat customer. If you decide to visit this establishment, ask for any other waiter than Scott. Otherwise, you will probably end up serving yourself.
The food was good for the price but dont expect great customer service, or ANY service at that. It took 30 minutes to receive our food and no check ups on how we were doing. Again the food is good and the manager was friendly when we brought it to his attention, but the customer service sucked!
