I bake at home. I make good bread. The reason I started was this place. They are still better than me. I offered them money to teach me. Its the best bread I have had in my life. I havent had some of the other items since I dont eat eggs or meat, but as far as bread; You can't find an equal in this area thats for sure. One time I took my 3 year old to get some bread. He wanted some and I ripped the loaf in half and passed it back to him. Being the typical picky todler I figured he would take a bite and toss it down. He left a stump of the crust. Even baby approves.
The sandwiches are surprisingly good and not much more than you'd pay somewhere without fresh bread. Try the energy cookies for healthy fair. Staff are young, friendly, and generous with counter samples. Homemade bagels reasonably priced, and don't forget to check out the day old section if you're on a budget. More meaty dishes (like the new beef empanadas) will get them a fifth star.

Love this place.
I absolutely love this place! I was able to sample some of their new gluten free options and I must say that I can't even taste the difference. Most people think of the Flour Pot as just a traditional "bakery" but I promise you that it's quite the opposite. The Flour Pot has breakfast and lunch menus that are quite healthy and eliminate the stigma that most bakeries get when it comes to nutrition. I urge you to try this Gainesville gem out!
