EXCELLENT....one word to describe our experience at Polo Grill last evening...food and service! Our Good Neighbor Group of four couples meet once a month to have dinner at local restaurants and get to know each other better. We chose Polo Grill and asked if there was an area/small room that would be available and were given the Board Room. From the beginning our evening exceeded our expectations and our server, Nolan, did an OUTSTANDING job including remembering all names and providing just the right level of attention throughout the evening! Definitely will return.
Another wonderful event at Polo Grill! There were around 350 people at the 2014 Women's Council of Realtors Fashion Show. The venue, service and food was fantastic!! Thank you for everything-
This had been my place of choice for Easter Brunch for the past several years until today. The food was not up to the standard of a $39 buffet. The prime rib was over done, my "omelet" made to order was more like barely done scrambled eggs, there were no plates for the buffet and we had to wait for a short time, the key lime pies were not fully cooked and appeared to be from a powdered mix. The chocolate cookies were good as was the chicken salad. The bathrooms were filthy. Then came the check that added a 20% gratuity for a table of 3. With $2 for a cup of luke warm coffee added. The $160 tab for 3 people was very steep for the average service and food that was barely average, certainly not the standard we expected. We were underwhelmed by this experience. We addressed this with the manager who said the 20% gratuity was 'for the people who came in at 4am to prepare the food." I thought that would have been in the $39 per person charge. The sever and manager we spoke with appeared to listen and then made polite explanations that left me wondering about what has happened to one of my previously favorite places to eat. Generally, I am saddened that our holiday meal was not so great. I am grateful I had valuable time with my family. I hope that the problems are fixed so I can enjoy this once great place again.
I was part of a Hospitality Professional group hosting a dinner event at Polo Grill this evening. The food quality was substandard. Chicken was served dry to more than one attendee and the presentation was bad. I mentioned to the waiter however no one came to talk to me. I decided to speak to the Manager. He was calling me his friend! and just apologized and shook my hand stating they don't serve dry chicken!! I believe no one cares. Last year I attended a Luncheon with Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance and the food was also below standard. I wrote an email to the Alliance afterwards.
We were honored to attend the GCBX Annual Dinner as guests of Darrel and Lynn Turner last night and it was great! The room was full, but the energy was great. From the field green salad, to the lobster and steak dinner cooked perfectly - we had a blast! It was fun to see old friends we had not seen in years, and Governor Rick Scott fit right in with the energy. Thanks, Polo Grill's Michelle at the bar for being fast and friendly. Thanks Jamie and Tommy for being consistent in serving our community's special events!
